Mark Teixiera is on the move again, this time to the runners-up of last years deadline deal that landed him in Atlanta, the Los Angeles Angels. The Angels are swinging for the fences and taking their aim at the World Series as they pulled off a blockbuster deal to acquire Mark Teixeira from the Atlanta Braves. Los Angeles sent first baseman Casey Kotchman and minor league pitcher Steve Marek to the Braves. The Angels currently have the best record in the bigs and have a 11 1/2 game lead in the AL West.
Both of the teams involved should leave this trade ecstatic as they both got what they were looking for; the Braves got a young affordable first basemen and a pitching prospect while the Angels solidified their offense as one of the best in baseball.
