The number of the day is:

October 9, 2008

45, as in Evander Holyfield's age is forty-five. Evander Holyfield has accepted an offer to challenge Nikolai Valuev for his heavyweight world title. If he wins the fight, Holyfield would become the oldest heavyweight champion in history, even older than George Foreman, who was 45 when he knocked out Michael Moorer in 1994. It would be Holyfield's first fight in 14 months. In his last bout, he lost a unanimous decision in Moscow to Sultan Ibragimov for a version of the title in October 2007.

The news of the fight comes months after Holyfield made news when his financial problems were made public after the mother of one of his children took him to court over missing child support payments. There were also threats of foreclosure on his sprawling, 54,000-square-foot suburban Atlanta estate.
Let me remind you that this is the same Evander Holyfield who previously lost his boxing license due to heart problems and worries that he is risking permanent damage that could leave him physically debilitated or even worse; being killed in the ring.

Let me also remind you that Nikolai Valuev is the biggest titleholder in the history of boxing. He stands at 7ft and weighs around 320 pounds. While the real deal is 6'2 and weighs about 215.
This has the makings of being the real life version of Apollo Creed v Ivan Drago.
Someone please tell Evander to file for bankruptcy, the money is not worth it. Oh and the number really should be 46, that is how old he will be at the time of the fight.

It sounds like the real life version of Rocky IV.

I hope he dies in the ring. A slow painful death. It would make for a very entertaining boxing match and possibly a blog post on my blog as well.
