Is Iceman in the Major Leagues?
In baseball cards, In Iceman AD, In Lucas Duda, In MLB, In TeachJuly 20, 2011
When Bryan Harvey was a successful Major League pitcher in the early '90s, strange old men at The First Presbyterian Church, in Athens, Georgia, would come up to me, lean over, and grin at me with one hand in their pocket. Then they would hand me a Topps baseball card with my name on it, and the coolest part was that the man with a 2.49 career ERA and 177 career saves (46 in his best season) spelled his name not with an "i" but with a "y."
I've always wanted to return the favor, but it's not as fun to give someone a card with the name Jones or Johnson or Smith on it, and I don't know anyone named Smoltz; so Duda will have to do. Sorry, Aisander--just the last name will have to do.
And, I apologize to our handful of readers, for this has been about the extent of our baseball coverage this summer.

Caught me. Damn.
July 23, 2011 at 12:40 AMThought so. I feel like this explains why you couldn't stop by a month or so ago--you blamed it on having a kid, but it was really your baseball career.
