Number of the Day: Tom Watson's Ace

July 15, 2011

Younger men will win the tournament, but Tom Watson's hole in one at the sixth was a reminder to the old and young, the skilled and the hack, why anyone would ever pick up one of those fickle clubs and send all their hopes and dreams sailing into a blast of wind and storm and ocean--hope, we cling to it always.

Also, you may want to check out Miguel Jiminez's stretch that takes place 1:50 into this video. Like a snake charmer hula-hooping, or a cigar being flushed, it was.

WARNING: Tom Watson much older now than pictured above.

Lots of Americans in contention makes Bruce happy.

I'll be honest, I need Tiger more than I thought.

yeah, my dad is probably thrilled. I think he'd rather lose a war to another country than a gold tournament.

I miss Tiger, too. he made it easy to watch a whole golf tournament, where as without him, it's like reading a book that you know is good but you have to force yourself to enjoy (until the very end)

I could to for Darren Clarke or Miguel Jimenez as winners, but an American would be ok as well.
