The all-star game is quickly approaching and this year should be one of the best, due to the fact it is going to be in historic Yankee Stadium. This being the last all-star game in Yankee Stadium, it should be a celebration of all the great games that have been played in the park. But thanks to fan voting, the AL starters will almost all be Red Sox. The following Red Sox are leading in the ballots so far;
- Catcher: Jason Varitek- up on Joe Mauer by 45,000+ votes
- First Base: Kevin Youkilis- up on Justin Morneau by 200,000 + votes
- Second Base: Dustin Pedroia- up on Ian Kinsler by 200,000 + votes
- Designated Hitter: David Ortiz-up on Hideki Matsui by 700,000 + votes
- Outfield: Manny Ramirez is up by 30,000 + votes
The leaders at shortstop and third base are Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez. The worst part about the Red Sox fans stuffing the ballot box, is arguably their best player this season JD Drew may miss the summer classic. He is 5th in the AL in BA with a .327 and he has 14 jacks and 43 RBI, why not vote for him. What are your thoughts? Who did yall vote for?
