The impact of Tiger on sports and culture has been amazing, the only other athlete to have such an impact on sports and culture is Michael Jordan. Since he hit the PGA tour the purses have gotten bigger, the coverage has gotten bigger, and the attendance to PGA events is as high as ever. Golf is as popular as ever and is being played by more and more each year.
Yet when Tiger is there we forget just how good the rest of these guys are, I have had the opportunity to play with some former division one golfers. Some of them now playing on the Tar Heel tour and Hooters tour. Before playing with these guys I thought my game was good, that hillarious notion lasted all but one hole. Seeing the accuracy that these guys can hit with is ridiculous, and it shows you how talented you have to be to play in college, let alone be one of the best 240 in the world to be on the PGA tour. Over the next couple months I encourage you to go watch an event live, seeing how good they are up close will show you how bad you really are without having to look at a scorecard.
