As Teach is on vacation I am on Favre-watch, which continues to get weirder by the moment. According to Chris Mortensen of ESPN, Brett Favre informed Packers general manager Ted Thompson by phone on Thursday that he was planning to report to the team's training camp this weekend. And Sal Paolantonio was emailed this information from NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy "Favre was put on the reserve/retired list. A player who is put on that list has to file paperwork or make it known to the league that he is retired." That's what #4 did by virtue of his very public retirement press conference months ago."To get off that list, a player must file paperwork to be considered for reinstatement."
But don't expect Favre-gate to settle into normal Brett Favre mania in Green Bay, as the New York Jets sought and received permission to talk to Brett Favre about a possible trade. This makes me wonder if the Packers will only talk to bad teams in order to make sure Brett either stays retired or comes back to Green Bay as a backup. Either that or they just will dump him to a bad team to make Favre pay for turning his back on Titletown(name pending on terrible ESPN poll). All I know is thank newborn 8 pound 6 ounce baby Jesus for this, as ESPN has something to talk about other than Yankees-Red Sox.

It's terrible being a Green Bay fan right now with that stupid ESPN poll and what's going on with Favre. I want to have a poll where people vote what city should be called the Big Apple.
