The much maligned tight end of the Giants was traded today to the Saints, for a pair of draft picks. The Saints wanted to add another down field option to their offense, and Shockey is definitely an upgrade receiving wise from Eric Johnson and the Giants wanted to get rid of the offensive equivalent of Brian Bosworth. In my estimation both teams won in this deal, and now Shockey can act like a righteous redneck in New Orleans. He immediately becomes the starter in New Orleans and much like last seasons playoffs, the quieter and more humble Kevin Boss will step in to the starting role for the Giants.
