Green Bay vs. Philadelphia Preview: A Sabretooth Tiger and a Wolverine
In Clay Matthews, In Green Bay Packers, In Marvel Comics, In Michael Vick, In NFL, In Philadelphia Eagles, In Sabretooth, In Teach, In WolverineJanuary 8, 2011
Relentless and unafraid, these two warriors, with mysterious and darkened pasts, will meet tomorrow on a cold field of winter. They have both endured a season's worth of pain and anguish, their raw athleticism and deranged work ethics twisting them into a yin and yang of surly passion. The day has come when only one can survive. Clay Matthews, blonde mane flapping in the Arctic wind, is a killer by profession and bloodline, while Michael Vick, origins unknown and unfathomable, is a grizzled veteran trying to convince everyone that he has once and for all conquered his demons and is comfortable with shadows. Both can taste blood, have tasted blood, and both seek redemption inside a stadium, not knowing that such miracles occur in some place much more holy and more unreachable, and, perhaps, that's why they play so hard, because there is an anger inside them, like a blue flame, that feeds on the idea that all this hurt is for something that is no more than an amusing game.

I'd love to have Aaron Rodgers as my QB as would 25 other teams and the crap about not able to win in the playoffs was unjustified, especially since he had 400 yards and 5 TDs in his only playoff start. But the thing he does with his belt needs to stop. It was cute at first, but when your doing it constantly and at ridiculous times, like after picking up a first down in the first quarter, it just makes me want to hate him.
January 9, 2011 at 8:45 PMas long as they keep winning, he can go to the title belt as much as he wants. also, how else is he supposed to replace Favre in the eyes of all those good ol' boy diehards if he doesn't stoop to a little pro wrestling theatrics a little now and a again
