Fries and Ketchup: My Morning Jacket's Circuital

Definitely late on this and perhaps not even cool anymore. The band isn't mainstream, but it also isn't a secret. It's kind of stranded in that realm of just making music, like Ray Allen in Seattle, like Chuck Palahniuk's novels. And, therefore, you probably already like them or you don't. I do; my fiancee doesn't. But I'm still taking her to see them in August, hoping that flesh and blood is more impressive than digital recordings.
I've pretty much been playing Circuital on an endless loop everyday this summer as I try and finish writing the novel that I started last summer, and if the book comes off like a Jim James/Shim Shames/Yim Yames/whatever his name is now concept then that's alright with me, because that will mean my words will appear philosophical and wise at first glance (even if they aren't truly) and no matter what they'll be a way to make any lazy afternoon more than it was.
