LCB NFL Picks: Week 10

November 8, 2008

+ 2.5 Green Bay Packers (4-4) @ Minnesota Vikings (4-4):

Langston's Pick: The Vikings play better football at home, defending their turf to a record of 3-1. The Packers have been playing great offense, but until the defense brings some consistency I don't see them becoming a weekly threat. I will take the Vikes and Purple Jesus by 6. LCGs Pick: I am going with the Packers. They played a great game against the Titans last week and have continually proven there is life after Brett. They are really starting to come together and I don't feel the Vikings will pose much of a threat. Packers by 3.

+ 3.5 Indianapolis Colts (4-4) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (6-2):

Langston's Pick: The Steelers are coming off a huge win in Washington while the Colts survived against the Patriots to bring their record back to .500. I think this game will be competitive but the Steelers and Dick Lebeau's defense will be too much for the Colts. Steelers by 10. LCGs Pick: I have to admit that I am pretty bitter that the Steelers spanked the Redskins on Monday. However I will pick them over Indy. As much as I love Pey-Pey Manning the Steelers are starting to bring it. I will say this, it will be an interesting game and I don't see Indy going down without a fight. The Steelers will have to truly earn this win.

+ 3 New York Giants (7-1) @ Philadelphia Eagles (5-3):

Langston's Pick: I hate to do this after stumping for McNabb earlier today, but the Giants will win this going away. The Eagles haven't beat anyone other than Pittsburgh this season and I don't see that changing this week. Giants by 3. LCGs Pick: Fly Eagles Fly. I have always and will forever be a huge Skins fan. But I can't help but share some admiration with our rivals to the north, the Eagles. They have always been my back pocket team. Over the years I have noticed that the Eagles, as well as Philadelphia, are full of surprises. This game will either be a great win or a sour loss. Either way it will be a good game. Eagles by 6.

+9.5 San Fransisco 49ers (2-6) @ Arizona Cardinals (5-3):

Langston's Pick: Frank Gore and Tim Hightower will make this game worth watching. Hightower, a rookie out of the University of Richmond has shown he has the ability to strive in the NFL. Gore has become one of the better backs in the NFL, he runs with power and can do damage as a receiver out of the backfield. This game also gives us an opportunity to watch Patrick Willis, one of the best young linebackers in the league. I see the Cardinals winning, but they won't cover. Cards by 7. LCGs Pick: I don't have much to say on this game other than the Cardinals will beat the Niners. Bet the Cards to cover.

Upset specials:

Langston's upset of the week: -6.5 Jacksonville Jaguars (3-5) @ Detroit Lions (0-8)

I got the Lions winning their first game of the season by defending their home turf against the Jaguars. Hey even a blind squirrel finds a nut every now and again. Lions will win this game, moving them into a heated race with the Bengals for the top pick in this years draft.

LCGs upset of the week: -3 Tennessee Titans (8-0) @ Chicago Bears (5-3)

I got Da Bears beating the Titans by 3. While the Titans are good, their play-book is played out. The Bears are going to force the Titans to throw the ball. Its time for the Titans to show some new tricks and I'm not sure it will work against the Bears. The Bears are coming off a of a huge come back over the Vikings and have some great momentum coming into this game.
