Langston: Last week in the comment section, I refuted the fact that the Bengals are the team we overlooked the most in our previews, instead I stated it was the Ravens. After looking at their schedule, I realized I bought into the hype way too early. Two of their three wins have come against some of the worst teams in the NFL(Chiefs and Browns). With the Ravens finally playing against an upper echelon team, I like them to finally look average. And the Patriots will win this game thanks to Tom Brady and Randy Moss reverting back to their form of 2007. NE 24 BAL 17.
Drody: These aren't your daddy's Ravens anymore, no sir. The Ravens look to be the class of the AFC this year, with 2nd year stud Joe Flacco leading the way. With a solid defense to go along, the Ravens look good this year. The Pats, on the other hand do not. For some reason, everything about this team screams "DONE!!" I guess maybe they're luck has just run out. Ravens 24, Pats 13
New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints @ 4:05 on CBS:
Langston: This is the game of the week. No, it doesn't involve two teams that routinely play eachother in the playoffs, nor does it include a future hall of famer playing against the team that allowed him to become who he is today. But it possibly involves the NFL's best defense and offense. Rex Ryan and his blitzkreig defense verses the air attack of the Saints. It should be fun to watch how Brees deals with the neverending pressure while also watching to see if Sanchez and his offense can keep pace. In a game like this with two teams playing great football with two different types of attack, I always take the team with the better defense. Jets 31 Saints 28
Drody: Both of these teams are big surprises to me. I've never been big on the Saints and the Jets have just been so awful lately that I just stopped caring. But in this new season, both teams are rolling. The Jets behind Buddy Ryan's son, Rex, are winning, with the "Sanchize" leading the way. But honestly, I see no team stopping the Saints offense at this point. Drew Brees is leading an unstoppable force right now. I see this one as a run and gun affair. Saints 48-Jets 20
San Diego Chargers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers @ 8:20 on NBC:
Langston: At this point in the season, both of these teams look average at best. The Chargers offense looks great at points, but the declining ability of LT is having a major effect on their ability to close games in the fourth. The Steelers play good enough defense and pass the ball well, but their running game leaves a lot to be desired. This should be a close game. But due to the heavy blitzing of Pittsburgh and the injured Tory Polamalu, I like Darren Sproles to have a bunch of big plays off of screen passes. Chargers 21 Steelers 18
Drody: I'm afraid to live in Pittsburgh if the Steelers lose another game. Really, I have no idea how these people will react. I have no idea how Mike Tomlin will react if they lose another game. I mean, now that guy is Mr. Intensity. On the other end of the spectrum, I don't like the Chargers at all. Norv Turner is still their coach, Phillip Rivers is still an a-hole. Not much to like about that. Also, their defense likes to use steroids. The Steelers need this one more, and won't lose 3 in a row in front of their home crowd. Steelers 21, Chargers 7
Green Bay Packers vs. Minnesota Vikings @ 8:30 on ESPN MNF:
Langston: Am I the only one who thinks Greg Lewis should be the guy everyone should have been talking about this week? Favre chucked and prayed. While Lewis got space, jumped, caught the ball, and stayed in bounds. That was a play where if Lewis fails to do any of the four, the Vikings lose. For Favre getting all the credit, I like the Packers to exact a little bit of revenge for all the fans fed up with the Favre-ication of the mass media. Packers 28 Vikings 24
Drody: I hate both these teams. I foresee both teams getting severe cases of the swine flu. 0-0 forfeit by both teams. Brett Favre is never heard from again. Packers 13, Vikings 10
