LCB NFL Picks: Week Thirteen

December 6, 2009

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts @ 1:00 on CBS:
Langston: Last week, I mentioned the Colts had their biggest problems with divisional foes and it's mainly for two reasons. The inability to stop Andre Johnson, which if not for a 4th quarter collapse by Houston, would have had them losing a game for the first time since last year. And then there is the front office's stubborness to not plan for the annual injury to Bob Sanders, making it a taller task when facing good running teams. Indy still hasn't fixed this problem, and with Chris "I'm too good to not have an awesome nickname" Johnson coming into town, those holes will have a spotlight shown on them. I'm not sure if it's enough for Tennessee to win their sixth straight, but it will be enough to make this a must watch game. IND 35, TEN 28.

Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants @ 4:15 on FOX:
Langston: For a second straight week, we have another 4 o'clock game that looks to be pretty good on paper. Both are marquee teams with quarterbacks to match, both have a realistic shot at the playoffs, and it's a rivalry to boot. However, this game will end up being easily ignored by myself. Thanks to the Giants swift plummet and the annual end of season loss of football fundamentals for the Dallas Cowboys. I suggest you follow my lead and take a nap during the first three quarters. By the time you wake up, maybe it will be close enough to be watchable or at least give you time to see the Cowboy cheerleaders. Wait, it's in Jersey.. I wonder what's on CW. NY 10, DAL 24.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Arizona Cardinals @ 8:20 on NBC SNF:
Langston: This game should be a showcase for the Vikings, as they continue to raise the hopes of Minnesotans only to disappoint them in the playoffs. I like Purple Jesus and Lord Favre to destroy last year's Cinderella. Now I'm not sure of the spread, but I do know the over/under of comments about Favre's "love of the game" is at 16. Bet the over for both. MIN 35, ARZ 21.

Baltimore Ravens vs. Green Bay Packers @ 8:30 on ESPN MNF:
Langston: The Ravens got back on the winning track last week, beating the Steelers at home in over-time. That win was against first time starter Dennis Dixon, who happens to be Pittsburgh's third option. I haven't been able to watch a lot of Packer games, but I do know Aaron Rodgers is much better than Dennis Dixon. And I heard somewhere, I can't remember where, that the Packers have this cornerback who is playing pretty well. I'll bet that he will have his biggest day of the year, covering Joe Flacco's favorite option to lock in on, Derrick Mason. Oh and the Packers win, because, well, they're the better team. GB 24, BAL 21.

The Vikings will quickly dispose of the Cardinals, especially without the services of Kurt Warner.
