Yesterday me and the LCG were taking in our weekly dosage of football, when this commercial aired.
After watching I was in a brief state of bewilderment; not with the awkwardness that Phelps and A-Rod can bring but with the amount of showmanship Kobe can give. He did his best at channeling Joel Goodsen, and I think by rocking it, he saved this commercial.
Its been a day since watching it and the haze has been removed by my lack of short-term memory but I am still left questioning why Tony Hawk is wearing a helmet. Its not like they made A-Rod carry a bat, or told Kobe to hold a basketball, or even have Phelps wear rubber floaties. Do they think the general public is so dense that they wouldn't be able to recognize a national icon without his safety equipment? Or was Hawk just worried about being struck by the flailing members of his boxer-clad co-stars? And if so, wouldn't goggles also be necessary?
